Lower than average sulphur, C5's and C6's and a ahigher than average butane content were evident in the June Central Alberta (aka Koch Alberta) light sour sample.
Apart from a very slightly lower than average C5's, C6's and C7's content, the quality of the May sample of Central Alberta light sour was fully consistent with historical averages. A simulated distillation was run on this sample.
Pentanes and hexanes were below five year averages, though consistent with recent history for the Central Alberta crude stream. All other characteristics tested were reasonably normal.
Butanes, MCR, sulphur and metals were elevated and C5's by C10's were lower as per recent trends. The simulated distillation data are in agreement with the recent hydrocarbon distributions.
Increased density, sulphur, MCR, metals and butanes, along with lower than average BTEX and C5s x C10s, were observed for the August sample of Koch Alberta. The simulated distillation results were consistent with the overall decrease in light ends. That is, naphtha was decreased while the gas oil component was larger than normal.
Slight increases in C4s, vanadium, MCR, and sulphur and decreases in BTEX and C5s x C10s were detected for the June sample of Koch Alberta. Density was also marginally higher than average.
Slight decreases in C5s x C7s and benzene were detected for the May sample of Koch Alberta. In addition, density and C9s x C10s were marginally elevated. The sample's simulated distillation distribution indicated an increase in naphtha along with a decreased gas oil component.
Slight decreases in C5s x C8s and BTEX and higher than average density, sulphur, MCR, and metals were observed for this month's sample of Koch Alberta.
Increased butanes and nickel, along with lower than average C5s x C8s and BTEX, were observed for the November sample of Koch Alberta. The simulated distillation distribution indicated a slight decrease in naphtha along with a marginally larger gas oil component.
Increased butanes (4.07 vol% versus 2.64 vol% average) and MCR, along with decreased C5s x C7s and benzene, were present in the May sample of Koch Alberta. Density was marginally elevated. The simulated distillation distribution reflected a decrease in naphtha and an increase in the gas oil component.
Increased butanes (4.80 vol% versus 2.83 vol% average) and vanadium, along with decreased C5s x C6s, benzene, and toluene, were present in the April sample of Koch Alberta.
